Long time no post!

So I've been seeing some of the old gym members out and about around town and it was making me feel nostalgic. I haven't done Crossfit since we moved to Dubai over three years ago. Once in a blue moon I'd get the urge and do a few workouts, but never stuck with it. I've just been kinda doing my own thing walking, running, Pilate's or yoga. But after looking at this blog I realized how much I really miss strength training. I've decided to start back at the beginning with Starting Strength. Since we're back in TN we have our little garage fitted out. As expected I'm weak. I really don't know what my limit is right now so starting out light and will add 5-10 lbs each workout and see where it goes.

Workout A 
3x5 Squat 
3x5 Bench Press 
1x5 Deadlift 

Workout B 
3x5 Squat 
3x5 Press 
5x3 Power cleans 

Workouts A and B alternate on 3 non-consecutive days per week.

I'm very limited on equipment doing the workouts in the apartment. I need to purchase heavier DB and KB's. Used 8# DB and only have the door pull up bar that I can't kip on so used chair for assistance. 13+3

Ok, so I am going to try to get back in the habit of blogging my workouts again.

I've finally been getting back into CF after a long hiatus. I'm going to try to balance CF and Pilates. My current plan is 3 days Pilates, 3 CF and one day off. I'm ridiculously weak so I probably won't be posting my weights out of embarrassment. I also don't have access to a lot of weight so I won't be able to heavy DL or BS.

I'm such a slacker on this blog. I just have so much going on it's hard to keep up with everything. I finally broke down and got a treadmill. It's just so hot here there is no way I can do the long runs outside, and it's to hard to get away to go down to the gym with Warrick. So when he naps I'll be doing my running which makes it a little easier. I wish I could say I have been doing more, but I've really just been running. I know this will sound lame but, I have a piliates reformer on the way from the states. I wish we could make a CF set up here, but it just won't happen in the apartment. I've got my KB and DB's so that will have to do for now. I miss lifting heavy. I can't even imagine how weak I've gotten.

Still training for the 1/2 marathon. I'm going to start following a light strength cycle. I say light because there is not very much weight in the gym. I'm so weak and need to regain some strength. I also started the 100 Burpree Challenge I'm on day 4. We got bikes to start going on rides which is a fun way to burn extra calories. Last night we went on a 6 mile ride. *I need to buy bike padded shorts. Walking at least 20 minutes after every meal. That really helps me to be able to eat and not have my pants get tight :) Going to look into purchasing a treadmill. It's hard for me to always get down to the gym when it's not busy. If we get a treadmill I can run or even walk on incline while Warrick naps. Miss all my CF friends.

I'm such a slacker on this blog. I've still been doing the 1/2 training I guess it's going OK. I'm starting to get use to using the treadmill. It's just too hot here to run outside which is a shame with the amazing marina few. I've increased my walking again. I've gone back to walk at least 20 minutes after every meal since I can't seem to cut back on the carbs here. I wish they would open an american butcher shop. I also got a KB the other day so I've been using that making up random workouts. I miss my gym...
